Owen started preschool on Tuesday. It was a bit of a rough day as Owen was upset about being at school alone. It started out well, but Owen got upset when another little girl cried. We knew this would happen, Owen has always been empathetic towards others when they cry. When we picked Owen up, he was still a little upset, he had not eaten lunch, the true sign of how distressed Owen was! Even through all of this, he still picked up three new words at school. He said "goldfish", "big guy", and "shells". The lessen of the day was funny glasses and after he was home he told me what was on his glasses, "wave, fish, shell". We were impressed. The teacher said that even though Owen was upset, he was still participating in class, so not all is lost!
Today he went again and at pick up time he was playing with some toys and had peanut butter and jelly all over his face! A much better day. I hope next week will be that much better. We know Owen will truely enjoy school because he loves reading and learning new things.
